What to Expect
If it is your first
time visiting Vintage, you might want to know what to expect. If you have more questions or special
concerns, please don’t hesitate to email us or call 435.2933.
While our official start time is 5pm, we usually don’t start the service until about 5 minutes after. People start showing up about 4:45, grab a cup of coffee and a snack, and find their way to a seat right as the music starts. We’ll spend the first 25 or 30 minutes in song and prayer – you are welcome to participate as much or little as you like. It’s a very relaxed and informal atmosphere, so you won’t need to dress up, unless you want to. After singing we take a short break to greet each other. This is a great time to stop by the red table in the back of the room and pick up some of our free resources.
The service continues with a few short announcements, during which you’ll want to fill out a visitor card. This just gives us an opportunity to know you were there and to send a thank-you gift for spending the evening with us. If you want more information about Vintage, filling out one of those cards is the best place to start. We also take the offering during this time, but we encourage you to not give – you are our guest, and we are just glad you’ve made the effort to come!
Pastor Steve will then teach from the Bible, followed by a response time of singing and taking communion. After a few songs, we’ll wrap it up, and you’ll be on your way. Often there are informal gatherings that happen following the service, so keep your ears open for that. You can almost always find a group at the Elk or the Steamplant Grill shortly after the service!
If you have kids,
the younger ones (infant – 36 months) can be taken to the nurseries in the
basement before the service starts. The older kids (up through 6th
grade) go downstairs just after the singing. Of course, you are welcome to keep your kids with you if you like. For more information on VintageKIDS, click here.
