Browne's Addition

The Vintage Faith Community started in the Browne's Addition neighborhood just west of downtown in the fall of 2004.  Part of our reason for being in this neighborhood is the opportunity to partner with others to care for this historic part of Spokane.  The Browne's Addition Neighborhood Council (BANC) is a community organization of neighborhood residents that serves this neighborhood in a variety of ways.  BANC primarily exists to designate and spend Block Grant money - money given by the government to low-income neighborhoods to be used primarily for capital improvements.  The BANC meetings are every first Wednesday of the month at the MAC and begin at 7pm.  Everyone is welcome!

One of the BANC's primary yearly projects is the Summer Concert Series.  The annual summer concert series begins on Thursday, July 5th and runs every Thursday night in July and August.  This year's line-up brings a diverse musical collection to the neighborhood each Thursday evening beginning at 6pm, rain or shine!  For more info on the line-up, click here.

One of the most important current projects organized and directed by the BANC is the construction of a spray pad to replace the recently removed wading pool.  The spray pad project is a great example of the kind of work the BANC offers to the neighborhood, and the Parks Department is working to complete this project this summer.
